Don't be such a pessimist! You wouldn't believe how many Altima Coupes I'm seeing on the road these days (even 3.5s!), I'm seeing at least 2 a day now....

When the 2010 comes out soon (and hopefully with some new stuff that everyones been b****ing about), I think this thread will gain even more movement into possibly becoming a reality.

LOL, I'm sure you'd do that to your model car, even if it didn't come with it. You'd find a way to get some ozniums on there and a battery source

Got a reply from Revell, one of the manufacturer's... no dice....

Quote »Dear Mr Alexander, As already written to Mr Ferguson Revell will not realise a Nissan Altima. Japanese cars were never realised in 1/18 scale by us. We have alwasy and will also in future concentrate on European cars. With best regards

I want Tamiya to make a 1/18 plastic kit of the A/C soooo bad. Of all the model companies out there, they're the ones who will probably put one out first, but the wait is killing me!

And the list shrinks....

Quote »Dear Mr. Alexander: Thank you for your interest in Exoto high quality and detail models. A new 1:18 scale project can cost anything between $250,000.00 to $300,000.00 today, depending on quality and number of parts. This also requires 12 to 18 months to complete. Unit cost will be extra. The Nissan Altima Coupe is not in our current program. In order for Exoto to be interested in developing this model, your club must foot the charges for the development. A minimum of $100,000.00 thousand will be required before we start. Please let me know if you are interested to pursue this project with us. Again, thank you for your interest and trust in Exoto. Actually, the illiterate fart who replied said $100,000.00 thousand, which would equate to $100 million.

Still, I agree. Eff them.

Yes, yes, you are correct, the extra two zeroes are cents, but look more closely:

Quote »A minimum of $100,000.00 thousand will be required before we start.
He says one hundred-thousand THOUSAND dollars … which I am sure was simply poor proofreading, but nonetheless … … eff them

I'm pretty sure it is suppose to read

Quote »A minimum of $100,000.00; and thousand will be required before we start.
Deposit maybe? Or 1,000 models will be required to be ordered? Either way doubt it'll happen. Would have loved to have a blue coupe sitting in my office.

Actually, I'm content to take Mr Keusseyan as a person not thoroughly accustomed to the processes of proofreading or delegating the draughting of letters to secretarial staff.

Of course, I could be totally wrong, and it's just as likely that he intended to say that a deposit of $100,000 AND a pre-order minimum of 1000 units would be required before they would consider the proposition.

Having a history in my youth of being a plastic model geek, I wouldn't even mind if a plastic replica model kit were available. I'm no stranger to model cement

Take a look at some of these Tamiya Nissans. Maybe you could modify one of them into an A/C? With all the Nissans they currently have it's got to be only a matter of time before they give us the A/C.
