I asked this a long time ago and didn't get any real anwsers. I'm not looking for comments about how you do or don't think it's good for the motor, cheeting, whatever. I just want to hear from the guys that have it installed what kind of set up they're running and what kind of gains they got.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that's not what he means by "on the bottle".

I'm thinking about it once I get the motor in, if I try it I'll tell you know how it goes. I'm just gonna use an NX wet kit, just like on my other car. Probably a 75-100 shot to be safe. I don't think you need any special advice to run it, it's basically the same on every car, installation and gains wise. The motor (RB25) is definitely up to it from the power I've seen people put down. It'll be fun until I get the serious turbo stuff put on it.

I wouldn't run nitrous on my 25 Unless it was a 30 shot off the line for spooling.. Nitrous is crazy voilitile and I simply don't trust it.

30 shot is pointless

Nitrous is safe as long as it is setup correctly. And you don't go N2O happy. lol

But yeah I'm not a fan of N20 too much myself, but to spool a big turbo its cool.

Have any of you guys run nitrous before who don't really like it? Not knocking you, just curious. It's like crack. Instant-on raw vicious power at the flick of a switch, whats not to like? I'm an addict, I don't see how anyone couldn't like 100whp at the flick of a switch with no spool, lag between shifts, anything. I wonder how it'll affect spool or the ecu concerning building boost, I've never run it on a turbo car and I'm pretty excited about trying it.

Yeah 100 shot on a LS teg75 on a 1.8t jetta150 on a 350 camaro

yeah its definetly fun and cool. But I'd rather rely on boost than N20Unwatched both will kill your motor.Boost is free, and Im cheap. lol

Nitrous is not dangerous. Just make sure you have the fuel to match it. Monitor knock and ext temp. Just like tuning! Now if your runing bigger than stock turbine I would becareful running over 50 maybe 75.

reason I don't like it. I've seen two high powered stock block rb25's use all boost and make some serious numbers. They add nitrous, both cars lasted only a week or two later....

You shouldn't have to worry about lag during shifts unless you don't know how to size a turbo for the application.

Not to mention needing a tune for the nitrous and a tune w/o, so you'd have to switch between maps when on it and not on it. Pain. Unless I was building a drag car its not for me. Ever.

I despise the idea of having power in a bottle and when that bottles empty I'm just another car. Its like pop-eye running out of spinach when its time to face the bad guy. NTY.

35r .68 t4, hks 256's, top mount, intake plenum, 740's, lt12s, arp studs.. Currently wrapping it up.. Looking around 450-500rwhp at 18-22 psi. I shall see once its on the dyno getting tuned...

That figure is plenty for me, I'd rather not dump some no2 on top of that, ring land failure is going to be prevelant at the level I'll be at, best not risk it even greater with the laughing gas.

Well the ring lands can take over 500 thats for sure. So having a relieable 500hp car as a daily driver is fun. The only thing is the block will eventually crack. Nice cam. Why are you going with tha size turbine. A liitle small for that set up you have. Unless response is what are you looking for, hence the 35r. Got pics some where on this site?

Its all on racebread.com, reason for the .68 its what Turbo240@AMS performance and Precision felt was best for my setup I gave them. The t4 housing is larger than the t3 thus more lag... so the .68 helps that... Looking for full boost around 4000-4300.

The block wont crack.... ringlands will blow well before that happens.
