the 95 max is my girlfriends car, so i dont drive it that often.

i did an oil change, ATF change, cleaned throttle body, new fuel filter, new air filter, 1 can of MCCC, redline CFSC, new plugs.

after i was done, i wanted to see how much of an effect the tune up made.

i hit the highway, and started nailing it [to get the injector cleaner working].

it was just starting to get exiting when the damn ECU objected.

whos idea was the 120 mph speed limiter? he/she should be shot.

car was pulling nice for a slow FWD car. figured i could have gotten to at least 130-135.

just venting. it pissed me off.

I also think it is dangerous the way that the ECU cuts off the fuel and the engine bogs down.

Its almost made someone wreck into my rear end one time.

it caught me by suprise, at first i thought the engine died.

i had a nice opening, and i was looking down the 3 mile straightaway at WOT, and all of a sudden, the motor just shut down. it was a real WTF! moment.

they should have made it more progressive, not all or nothing.

Heh...I love my 93. 135, and coulda kept going. No OBDII, but no speed limiter either. I was impressed at the handling at that speed (The road, normally a nice slow twist, became a slolom at that speed).

I believe the gxe maximas had speed limiters, I could be wrong. I have a 97' SE maxima and during the louisville NICO meet earlier this spring I kept up with ryan's G35 cruising at 135. Nick

My Infiniti Q45 has a limiter at 150 mph (removed) and my Z is limited to 155 mph.

Yes. Fuel cut is by far the scariest thing thats happened to me in the 240. But above that, its just plain embarassing when you're racing

the fuel cut is BRUTAL. i'm sure it's not a healthy shock for the engine/drivetrain either. I think s13's with HUD have a lower speed cut. I remember mine just hovering at 110. it was retarded and embarassing since the car was at a high 3krpm at that mph. so i don't drive on the highway as much as i used to, and i drive slower/safer now-a-days anyway. doesn't bother me as much anymore

man I'm so glad I don't have a limiter...

I think the auto SC's had one...at around 130 maybe...god I hate those...

the old S12 here had one at 105...I got it up to 113 or so going downhill though!

Seriously?

I know the government has put speedlimiters on more and more of the motorcycles now being that they're too fast. But the government mandated limit is 186mph. No where near what most production cars will hit that do have speedlimiters. So I could never figure that one out myself. However if you say it's from the speedrating of the OEM tires I can see why they would equip cars with them.

yes speed limiters are so cars can't outrun the speed ratings of the cars. And I believe the german cars are limited to 155 except porsche because its a gentlemens agreement, although testing of later models has showed that the "155" limiter doesn't seem to kick in until above 160 on certain audis and bmw's.

The speed cut on all s13's is 110, its just that the analog cluster is way less accurate then HUD. So hud cuts out at 110 and looks like 110, analog cuts out at 110 and looks like 115. I've owned both.2004 G35 infiniti let me drive didn't stop until 144 though.

hahaha, didnt notice the way i typed that one out.

long story short, the state police had written so many tickets on that stretch of I684, that the local court was backed up bad. i got a court date almost two years after i got the ticket. the trooper was promoted, and the people he gave tickets to had their cases dismissed.
