Hey...I'm new here, but I know what this problem is.
First off, I'v been working on 240's for a good 8 years or so and have purpose built a few for SCCA & Auto Cross racing.
After doing tune-ups, changing plugs, wires, & coils, then adding CAI's and exhaust systems the motor will run smoother so that will sort of get rid of the bucking. But NONE of those are the problem.
If you pay attention to whats happening you'll notice that your shifter is also rocking back and fourth pretty hard as the car bucks. That should be an INSTANT indication as to what the problem is.
After experiencing the same problem and doing some digging, I'v found that the problem is BAD ENGINE & TRANSMISSION MOUNTS. If the mounts are bad, they give the entire motor & driveline way too much play.
As the motor/trans snap back into place during an acceleration event it causes the car to jerk which in turn causes you to inadvertantly press on the gas pedal a bit. This keeps the entire cycle going until you either lift completely off the gas or push in the clutch.
Next time you take your car out, try this experiment:
Get going, shift to second & cruise for a bit then goose the gas a coupla times. This should set the bucking into motion.
Easy solution: Install new motor & trans mounts.I fabbed up my own solid mounts and NEVER had this problem again.
