Sommatt told you dude. Unless you have witnesses that can corroborate your story you have no defense. If you can have someone credible come in and say that the guy whipped around you then slammed on his brakes than maybe you have a chance. Unless you can do that, you just told your insurance company that you rear ended someone and its your fault.
Edit: out of curiosity, how did the GT-R get totaled?

Was waiting at a red light in my Skyline when a armored truck made a u-turn and rear ended me. Insurance determined the car was totaled. Back on topic, my insurance company has been notified. They say they have to wait to hear that loser's side of the story, but if what I say is accurate, he could be charged (or it could be 50/50), but like everyone says, it's a he said, what I say situation.

first of all, sorry, but it is stupid to keep 2 cars space while stopped on a red light. were you eating a macmeal or sth? on the other hand that guy's behavior should be punished. if you run into a bad driver (no offence) on the road you should never act worse.
off topic. my gf back home was doing 130 kph on the left lane and a BMW comes behind wanting to pass. before she had time to check to change lane, the guy passed her from the right and took off. then the bastard slammed on his brakes causing my gf to come to a full stop. With an opel corsa we are both glad she is still alive...
I sympathize with your situation, and I hope you get compensated.
