Who's actually DONE an LS1 / 240SX swap?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I'm very seriously considering swappig out the KA for an LS1. Would like to hear from someone that's actually done this themselves...

I can't see spending tons of $ on a 4 cylinder (Turbo, etc, etc) when an LS1 comes with high HP stock...

Sweet. Now you guys need to get some videos of these beasts in action.

I'm actually planning on doing this swap when I get out of college and get my own house. (It'll be a while).

I'm not real excited about the modified x member, at least not to that extent... Maybe a custom pan?

God I love that motor...

*starts up his C5 just to hear the LS1 through his Borla's*.

You guys should hear my friend's 02' Z06. Heads, cam, port/polish, intake, and Borla exhaust = 429rwhp and some badass sound.

Do you mean the motor mount or tranny mount? The motor mount is of course 100% custom. Its a solid piece of steel, good for race, probably very rough in street trim. The tranny mounts were removed and repositioned.

No I am talking about this one

http://is.rely.net/3-48-3267-l...g.jpg

it looks like a stock 240 mount with a modified upper mounting plate.

That is correct, that dude made his own mount using a partial 240 stock mount. Probably the route I'd go, the solid mount will rattle your fillings loose.

Bump for anyone that has places that sell the install parts? I haven't seen anything more from Aries or anyone else who sells mounting brackets

It's too bad that none of us will be able to hear that exact sound. What you have my friend is a kick *** version of the ls1. If this swap is in my future, I would only be able to afford a lightly used ls1, it will be from an older camaro.

But that sound that z06 makes is intense

People become tired with the same old thing. I always yearn for change...The process of doing a swap is fun for some people.

Not to mention LS1s are so much easier to come by than a sr. I'm probably still going to go ka-t, unless the price of ls1 kits drops down to less than 2k for full install -motor/tranny. Ive had the evo for 6 months and I truely love turbo cars

Slang is far different then no cap...I hate that. Is hitting the shift key so hard to do? Are you so busy? This isn't a open chat session or a cell phone text message. Its a technical forum...Nuff said there.

I was looking at the price for a late 80's early 90's Camaro...they are basically giving them away. HO 305 and a manual tranny...not to bad. Add some cheap heads and some boost. That would make for a cheap and pretty quick 240SX.
