yeah, I have that 3rd gear once in a while. although it doesn't happen a lot when pushing hard or drifting (yeah right, like I'LL be in third drifting, pfft!)

you can match revs without double clutching, just rev it up when you have the clutch in while you're moving the shifter. you get two things done at once then, instead of clutching, shifting to neutral, reving the motor, clutching, shifting into gear. seems pretty damn pointless to me. maybe double clutching was made up for people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time and then it was made famous by my personal favorite :rolleyes The Fast and the Furious.

i rev match in everyday driving. actually, when i'm a passenger and the driver does not rev match and just lets the clutch out slowly making the engine catch up to the driveshaft from idle rpm, it gets irritating because of the jerk forward.

i cannot see any instance when double clutching is a good method to shift. someone please enlighten me.

i started doing this when i first learned stick in order to match revs while braking. i didn't even know it was a racing technique until quite some time after i had been doing it on the street for months! hah.

My 1st-2nd shifts in the mornings when it's cold would grind if I shifted too fast. Also, my 2nd-3rd shifts wouldn't grind, but it was really notchy for some reason. I fixed both of those problems by switching to Penzoil Synchromesh gear oil, that stuff owns.

LOL pills. Everytime I see your icon I can't help but sing that song.

no offense, but wth are you talking about? heel toe has absolutely nothing to do with an upshift. a heel-toe is a braking/downshifting technique.

I stand corrected.
Thanks for correcting yourself you saved me the trouble.

For other readers doble clutching from 2nd to 3rd allows the input shaft to slow down faster so I can shift with out grinding my 3rd gear. Defiantly not faster if your syncro's are not fed up.

burnin240sx-Do you actually clutch twice, or do you just pause in neutral?
