A darn good reason for your choice in Nov.

I'm saying that if he defaulted, it would be on his credit report. Generally, the candidates make their own credit reports public information. I'm SURE Obama's is public information. If he'd defaulted, everyone would already know about it.

I'm just saying that I bet he had that balance sitting on there for a very long time. For all I know, he didn't pay it all off until he got proceeds from book sales.

I know 40 year olds that are still carrying student loans. They're low-rate, so it isn't all that uncommon or even particularly irresponsible.

I'm no longer up to speed on college loans. Can you just borrow the entire cost of Harvard Law?

No one mentions any scholarships, and he sure didn't earn any money while he was there. I just don't understand why the Obama campaign doesn't answer the question in detail.

Wow, a solid conversation instead of a put down or personal attack

Turns out you may be right... http://elections.foxnews.com/2...loans/

At least, according to the spin.

Actually, I reviewed his acceptance speech. He did. In detail.

No.

"Worked my way through college" remains unresolved.

A stretch at best, and a bald-faced lie at worst.

*I* worked my way through college. 40+ hours per week in the mental health field, working night shift, great place to catch up on homework.

Well stated, sir.

I think people have issue with the way BHO tries to make himself look humble, when he really isn't. Humble people don't write slick books to wipe out their debt. Humble people don't get a chance to attend Harvard. He is not an advocate for the common man. He is a wealthy man who is overpaid to press a little button with "present" written on it.

Yeah, there's no humility in that guy...

I posted about it in the infancy of this Politics forum, when BO spouted off about "not listening to" the military commanders on the ground in Iraq.

Conveniently, he's since backed off that and adopted a more reasonable stance... which is pretty much exactly what the other side's candiate has been saying all along (monitor the situation and provide the needed support, with a goal of getting out).
