I agree that it's stupid, however in some areas it can be pretty dang expensive (Chicago comes to mind). Also those photo intersections for red lights make me think of something like this too. I'm not saying I'd do it, but it certainly has crossed my mind.

The automatic toll things (like Ipass for IL) make things a lot easier to manage.

Actually Z, those tolls add up very quickly, (the Gw bridge itself is about $12 for ezpass)There are many EZpass toll cheaters here in NJ/PA/NY that owe thousands of dollars in skipped tolls. That's why they're considered felonies. I'm guessing this guy lives in a state that is less aggressive about pursuing the big scofflaws. Of course activating the curtain directly in front of a police car was pretty dumb.
