I didn't know where to post this. If anyone know who makes the wheels on the GP Sports G4 180SX, please let me know. I have a link to a picture below....http://www.srswap.com/pics/pro...g.jpg :ylsuper

Probably some Japanese company, if you can find them and get them they will probably cost as much as an SR20DET.

The camber is just for the photo, nobody in their right mind would drive a car like that.

I hope.

The body kit is from GP Sports, and I wouldn't be suprised if the wheels were made by them as well.

Nick.

The neg camber isn't for a photo shoot... i have vids of a guy driving a s13 that looks almost identical to that on a road course... drifting like a pro... you can get it at Driftworks

Normally I hate banners, but it looks like that's a sponsor, so I'll let it pass. It looks really good except I believe I see... Yes CHROME. Or is that just highly polished? If it's chrome I have an equation for everyone.

chrome=heavy=slow

"Smoke a pole" WTF? Alright, whatever, chrome is heavy, weight makes you go slower, I'm just inserting a little logic. I never said I had a problem with it, I just meant I wouldn't do it.

Let me ask you this... how much weight do you really think they add? Enough to really take time off them when they are drifting? No. It doesn't, just because something looks shiney doesn't mean it's chrome either... I know lots of guys with chrome rims that would urinate on your ride...

Since my ride is a 98' Mercedes E320, 99' Dodge Dakota V6 Magnum, or, one day my bro will let me drive his 205hp/250lb/ft A4 1.8T, yeah it could. I said it may* be highly polished. I have nothing wrong with chrome (a chromed rim can add 10 pounds compared to a non-chromed one), I just won't put it on my car, when I get one... It's your money/car, do whatever you want. It was just my 0.02$.

I dont have a problem when someone voices an opinion but you made it sound like fact... and it really wasn't based on fact... 10pounds will not make the difference

10lbs per rim. I could be a few lbs off on that, but pretty close.

Still... i could understand if it was 40 pounds a rime but it's still not enough.....

Well, lets think. A little power to weight ratios.

Say you have 200 hp and your car weighs 2500lbs then you get the following:

2500/200=12.5 lbs/hp now... add those 40lbs2540/200=12.7 lbs/hpbut then take into account that stock rims are smaller and a little lighter, say 2.5 lbs a rim. Now you have

2550/200=12.75 lbs/hp that's a full .25 pound per hp difference, that can add up.

yea it can, but i get what freak is saying. when you are drifting or w/e, i doubt just *that* much more weight is going to matter. but i see where you are comin from.

Good, I know drifting its not going to be much, but 1/4 it can. At least you see my logic.

unsprung weight is worth roughly 4 times its weight in "sprung" weight, IE taking 2.5lbs off per wheels nets 10lb loss of unsprung weight, or the equivalent 40lbs of sprung weight...

if you lose 5lbs a wheel, 20lbs total unsprung, 80lbs equivalent sprung...

unsprung weight is much more signifigant to a car than just "well, i lost 10 lbs..", the suspensions doesnt carry the load, so its being ""dragged" allong...

just to let ya know.-chet

So, I'm right? Those 40lbs do matter a bit at the track? Is that what I'm seeing, wow! Another point for the youngun!

also, having heavy *** rims, if you did a couple of dyno runs, you would actually lose hp from them because; well, just think about it, think about your engine having to turn 15 pound rims as opposed to some 40 pounders. and geez a lot of those chrome rims are a lot frickin heavier than 40 pounds it seems
