sorry heres the info from the net about the compression ratios...

The 2.4 L (2389 cc) KA24DE was used in many Nissan cars and trucks. Most KA24DEs bound for the US were built in Aguascalientes, Mexico, with the exception of the 240SX and 1994-95 Altima, which were manufactured in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

There's a couple of companies with high compression pistons for the KA,DE. Take a look over at http://www.raceeng.com they have some at 10.5/1 cr. Also Arias has pistons at 10.6 and 10.7 cr.

well if its a de(I assume yes) then you could slap in some e piston and call it a day. but the aftermarket ones are much better pistons I would hope for the price(s)....

as for how the numbers are lower lower comp=less power output, also the cams may be different but I'm no de expert. the 9.9 came in the r'nessa IIRC.

1989 SOHC 240sx compression ratio was 9.1:1 and, when installed into a DOHC 240sx motor, make 11.6:1

1990 SOHC 240sx compression ratio was 8.6:1 and, when installed into a DOHC 240sx motor, make 11.1:1

hope this helps
