So should I take it to T3 or Keith Vanmeter?

By the way does Keith still own the shop in NJ?

How much can I expect to pay for a FULL and complete inspection?

I am talking about using consult to check everything it possibly can, a visual inspection of the top and bottom of the car, interior and what ever else there might be.

And yes for all of you that say this should have been done before, well I bought the car from a NICO member who maintained the crap out if the car.

And for those that say 90 checkups should let me know what i need to know.

Either.

Both bill by the hour. The question is, "How much do you want to spend?"

Well my plan would be to get the full check up especially with a Consult, Then fix what I can my self. And the rest to a trusted Infiniti expert.

But I am willing to spend up to $200 on that COMPLETE inspection which should be more than enough to cover the bill.

Just wish that Hatian King would chime in because of his previous experience with him (Keith Vanmeter).

We usually charge $ 85 for a visual inspection and another $ 85 for a 30 minute driving inspection with Consult attached.

If you're willing to be patient and do it yourself we can point you in the right direction.

Why not do a more thorough inspection for free?

Yea, I might as well just be patient and see what i find over the time.

But the only reason I want a full inspection is because just recently (over the past couple months) I feel I am certified to own a Q45, Because I have read an fully understand the FSM, I have read nearly all the TSB's on the car, The SAE paper on the VH45DE and the owners manual of course.

So with that said I am still terrified to work on the spider, and the cold around New England is'nt helping.

But I have cleaned the EGR and AAC valve and i am about to fix the TPS today, I will resurrect an old topic I made about it to tell you how it goes.

I don't know if you have a Precision Auto around your way, but they are one of the few which will let you inspect the car with them. Get an oil change and transmission flush. They then will do a drive with the car and recheck everything. Thats just one way to go and get some stuff done.

Precision Tune???? You have got to be kidding.......one step above Jiffy lube as far as talent goes, at BEST. Where forth, fith, sixth owners of old dumestics and jalopies go that dont know any better or cant afford any better.

Honestly my experience with them was really good. I guess you have to find the right person who works there. Also it was just a suggestion because Paul is a mechanic him self, so most of the diagnostics can be done by Paul himself while they are changing his oil and transmission fluid. I wont deny the need to have a super professional who know's Q45's better then us look at it, but Paul seemed like he'd like to poke at it while it was going down. PT is the only place I know that will let you come in the bay while they are working. I am sure there are other places but they happen to be the only ones I know of.

Most military bases have a "automotive hobby shop" where you can go rent a lift with tools available for under $10/hour, and some are open to civilians...worth looking into !!

Really that's great about the Military base suggestion, never even thought or knew that they did that.

As for Precision Tune, I have never heard of them, But I am always with my car, If they don't let me near it while they work on it then I go somewhere else.

Another possibility would be to take an adult education auto shop course. Many will let you work on your own car using their tools and equipment.

Where can I find a shop such as this?

Or where can I find a military base near me?
