Just wanna see a show of hands here to see who plays this awesome awesome game. Its pretty much the only game i play consistently with friends. I've thrown tournaments around the Socal area. Speak up!

I haven't played the N64 version in years, but I used to play it like crazy. I still have a GameCube with SuperSmash Bros Brawl and then my in-laws have the newest one on Wii. It's one of the greatest game series ever though! I've spent hours playing all of them.

I own them all, but I play Melee and Brawl the most. Unlike a lot of people, I'm a fan of a lot of the changes made to Brawl. I just wish they hadn't stripped Kirby of his fireball move.

I find playing the other games harder to pull off consistent combos, unlike the 64. Since the 64 version had less fps (frames per second) it was much quicker and less laggy. Plus the stage layouts were perfect!

its cool you say that bc I was just playing mariokart 64 like 2 weeks ago with my roommate. He has the 4 essentials: mariokart, 007, zelda, and mario 64. What he really needs is pokemon stadium for a good 5th :couch

Are the controls similar? Xbox controller has like 500 buttons so I'd imagine it would be totally different, at least to a experienced player

The Xbox controller actually only has one more button than the N64 controller did. And the lacking button on the N64 was back/select, so it's not exactly a huge loss. Of course, the N64 controller's horrendously terrible layout means you can only use 2 of 3 shoulder buttons at a time, but then the Xbox's idiot Black/White-instead-of-shoulder-buttons layout means the same thing, so it evens out.

Man...thinking about that reminds me just how badly BOTH of those controller layout sucked. It's amazing how much difference a little reorganizing of those same buttons made for both consoles' successors.

haha no way, the n64 controller was just perfect for me. I love its layout and the fact you can choose between the 3 handles on certain games. And its the best layout for Smash bros.

I played this week! Used to own Melee, but gave it to an ex (with my whole gamecube system -.- ) but it's definitely a bit challenging to play when you get more familiar with Melee and Brawl.
