I need to know what parts I'll need for sure.

I need a 91-94 S13 distributor I need an 91-94 ignitor? I need the harness plugs for the distributor...

Anything more I will need?

I have a MSD 6AL W/ Coil and Tach adapter.

(I know this is the Turbo forum... But I can't see many NA guys doing this)

Thanks in advance... If you bums help me!

bump? Anyone?

I have a deal setup tomorrow for a dist and ignitor for about $100 with the plug on the dist... I'm guna call around and see who can get me the plug for the ignitor.

So I'm guna fight with this all weekend I think and see if I can get it to run... or blow up.

Is there a super special way to take out a distributor? I have never done this before so any kinda input would be great.

Removal: Pull plug wires, remove the 2 10mm bolts holding it in place, wiggle and pull...it has an O-ring, and is sometimes slow to come out.

As for the S13 setup...you need the dizzy and the coil...dunno if the plugs match up. Can't remember.

But it's ben done...search on FreshAlloy...(Duron) "duncan351" had his setup like this.

Ahh... thanks I'll look for his info!

I think the plugs are diff. I'm just looking for a ignitor plug now... Not a single 91-94 240 in any u-pull-it's around here.

For the dis I just have to make sure the rotor is pointing the same way when I put it back in right?

Also I dont need the old coil because I have a MSD coil waiting.

I hope this works easy... If I get it working I'll try and make an easy how to.

I put a S13 distrib on my S14 engine, but the whole thing was in a S13 chassis, so the wiring didnt cause me any problems. I can verify that the plugs are different though. You are probably going to have to do something funky with the S14 distrib plug because the trigger wire and key-on power wire both come from that harness since the S14 coil is in the distrib. You will need those (and those only from that harness) to set up your MSD coil and ign box. It really shouldnt be too hard. The signal wire will be the only sheilded wire (wire wrapped with more wire to cancel interference), and if the colors are the same as the S13, the key-on 12v power will be red/black. Beyond that all you'll need for the MSD box is a constant 12v source and some grounds.

Red, make sure to do a write up on this with pictures if you can. I'll be doing the same thing one of these days. But you can be the test bed...lol.

I'll be calling you for details, so keep track of what you do.

Yep... I shot an E-Mail to a guy who changed the S14 dist into external coil... But I would rather not cut mine up and just swap it for the right stuff.

I shot an E-mail to 3 people who were/are running a S14 dist in the S14 from freshalloy. Took me 3hrs to find 3 people... sucky.

Does anyone have a 91-93 FSM? or a link to a real FSM? also a real FSM of a 95 would help... I have some common downloaded ones but I dont think they are FSM's.

This should be interesting... one guy said it took him a few hr's with an FSM to wire it up.

EDIT: Also the guy said the spark was so great he gaped his plugs to .060 at 9psi with no issues. My car blew it out at .035 at 8psi so this is looking more appealing than ever.

I have the complete 1992 FSM, so you can ask me whatever you want from that and I'll look it up.

Also you can download the entire DOHC S13 FSM through here:zerothread?id=108538

I know where an entire S14 FSM is hosted online, but its a private resource and I dont think I should post it here. IM me ("foosternit").

I have called more than 40 people about the plug for the ignitor and not one has it.

Anyone on here wana send me a 91-94 Ignitor plug? I bet I can make it work without one but I'd rather do it right.

After looking at all the wiring diagrams it looks like a strait forward swap.

Ignitor plug? Not entirely sure what you're talking about, and I looked it up in the FSM as well. What does it plug into? (and dont say "ignitor" haha)

Nissan call's it a "Power Trasistor" in the book...

People who sell them call them Ignitor's

http://www.car-parts.com "Ignitor/Coil" 91-94 240sx

Ohh yeah and the post ^^ where I could not find the plug... Thank you 1992 Nissan Stanza for having the same "Ignitor" plug/clip/harnus connector?...

Who has all his stuff? I do! Btw: The place I went also has a J30 diff for $300 bucks... A 94... He said another guy with a 240sx wants to buy it and the j30 hubs... I could be a jerk and buy it out from under him! But I'll let it sit a week and if you dont grab it, its mine. j/k

I want a ATB diff anyways.

Now i'm in for the real fun.

It may not get done this weekend... But I will document everything I do... I'll start tomorrow and tag all the wires for easy pictures... The tag system I will use will be (A) to (A) and (B) to (B). that way it will be easy to see what connect where...

Yeah my car is having issues idle'n and dieing when I push in the clutch while driving above 2500rpm's... So I'm not installing the S13 Dist until I fix my current issues... I think it's my IACV the TPS seems to be ok.

I just changed my timing from 13dbtc to 18btdc and made sure my idle was at 700... When I plugged in my TPS it all went crazy and now I can't idle below 1k and it dies... If I unplug my TPS it idles at 700rpm's... But that's because it put the car in limp mode... If I unplug the IACV it idles at 700rpm... I think the IACV took a dump... I have been suspecting it of foul play for a while due to always having slight problems with idle and dieing...

Also how far away should the MAF be away from the inlet of the turbo. The Greddy pipe puts it about 12" away and I heard that it should be at least 18"

Once I fix all these problems I will install the dist... I just don't want compound my issues at the moment. Did I mention my crankshaft position sensor needs replaced to.

Sorry. I'm sure you understand how mad this makes me having this pop up all the sudden.

I want to install it! I really do...

Yeah I give up...... I need to spend less on this car and focus my energy in another direction right now. Things came up that are unavoidable. And my only car being down right now is unacceptable.

I followed the JWT instructions and checked everything 3 times over... Would not run...

Did the JWT instructions backwards to go back to stock and checked it all 3 times over... (Apparently I suck at wiring!) Still no run...

Took it to the shop and had them make it run stock again.

I have decided to change directions with my project.

I'm going to sell all the stuff for $300 + Shipping

also you said something about using the s14 dizzy with an s13 cap. can you explain this a little more to me? the way i think about is jsut unplugging the s14 coil plug (2 wire plug) and splicing the s13 harness for the coil or power transistor to that. then put an s13 rotor and cap on the s14 dizzy

Well the best thing we could ask for is a new CAP from MSD that would take a external coil... It might be easy enough to MOD a S13 cap to fit the S14... But right now I need to leave my car alone. They look close i guess.

I'm not sure how you would wire it up... It cost me $365 for them to fix what I did... I'm not going to screw with wiring again.
