yup.. definitely a fun job :)

the last 2 times I had to get into the clutch/rear main oil seal..etc I just saved myself from being crushed, oil/grease in the eyes, task of trying to drop the transmission and just took out the whole engine :)

I found it easier, just a little more time consuming

and now... ..... i think i got a ****ty throwout bearing :(.......its already making noises as if its going out...and it hasn't even been a month since I changed my clutch...this really really pisses me off because I think I may have to pull the friggen engine again.arg.

hey just out of curiosity...how long does it usually take to take an engine out? I am looking at an engine swap maybe in a month or so.

when you change your clutch last did you not change the throwout bearing? I have been told no matter what change the throwout bearing when changing the clutch that extra 15 dollars saves a whole lot of heart ache in the end i would think

yes of course :)

I got the clutch kit with a lifetime warrenty from autozone for 109 i think?? clutch/pressure plate, and Throwout bearing/alignment tool....

i think it may just be bad from the factory, which SUCKS HARDCORE.

as for the engine..it is definitely a two person job.. I had to mostly do it myself which is what slowed things down.took 2 afternoons.

I've pulled the transmission out a few times, what makes the job much easier is to unbolt the exhaust at the front pipe&cat, allows the back of the engine to tilt down, exposing the top transmission bolts and giving more room to get the bellhousing out of the tunnel.

I've done it several times. Couple of times with help, once all by myself. Everytime something feels wierd in the drive line I get this lump in the pit of my stomach and I pray it goes away.

I've done it on both of my 90 240's. Once with a lift an once on the ground. It is a tight fit that's for sure. I found that I had to twist the transmission to get the imput shaft into the preasure plate, and then twist it back. But hey it was a hell of a lot easier than dropping the subframe on a ford tarus SHO!

It took me about 2 and a half days, to pull the engine(camshaft was busted in half and it had bent the head all to shat, but what do you expect for 800 buck), install a new flywheel clutch and throw out bearing, and put it all back together.
