im looking for opions and facts about underdrive pulleys. i have a chance to get them dirt cheap but im concernd that lack of harmonic distortion from harmonic balancerless underdrive pulley will affect engine life? also does anyone have them on their g if so is there a gain. anyone have dynos before and after?

There is a massive thread about these if you do a search. Also check the Mod database sticky thread...

Ive been using UR underdrive pullies for some time now with no problems. If you are going with underdrive pullies you should go with a trusted name. Unorthodox racing makes some really good ones. Stillen.com even recommends them.

TEFLON.... Did you do the set or just the crank? I was looking into it and read on a website, I think it was either the stillen or unorthodox, that they recommend only the crank. Sound right? I was thinkin bout it too.

the set im looking at is unorthodox and if im doing it im going to do all of the pulleys do to i will be replacing it myself and it looks like a pain to do. there is not much room to work with. so imo if ur going to do it also replace the set. i was told that the engine becomes much more responsive. but i was also told that u dont see the gain right away they say after about a week of driving it it gains its full potential. they say that the ecu needs to learn the new mod. but i will say that so far ive done td cat back, plenum spacer, grounding kit, popcharger, and i gained almost 20whp im hoping ill be around 25whp at the next dyno. soon to come mod are big bore intake tube, cobb tuning access port, and possibly hfcats.

Only do the crank. Underdriving your accessories can lead to potential problems, particularly the alternator.

Don't get underdrive, get the regular size but just lighten. UR makes them for the G35 and also get the set. This is the best combo for the cars. I will be getting these when available for the G37
