I got rotors pads and bearings coming in day or 2, I understand the rotors separate from the hub via some 14 MM bolts. Any tricks to getting the rotor off the hub? I have a feeling they will be tight, all that heat and such. Anyone who has replaced the rotors and know any short cuts I appreciate any tips you can give me. I have done rotors but no 2 part ones like this truck has. I just want it to go as easy as possible. I know on the drums on back there are bolt holes that a long bolt can be threaded in to pop off the drums. Any tips or hints are welcomed and appreciated. Do not want to mess up the old hubs removing the disks.

also make sure you put locktight on the bolts upon reinstatement. i dont know what your supposed to torque those to but i think i did mine to like 70 or 80 with a impact. then when you put the hub assembly back on the car and tighten the nut make sure you spin the rotor. if you tighten the nut too much then it will put stress on the bearing.

I did mine with wrenches in the driveway. Was easier than I expected.

When you pull the hub off, there are 6 bolts that thread in the back bolting the rotors to the hub. I didn't need to but you could hit em with some penetrating oil and it might make it easier. Just pull em out, tap it off with a hammer and seat your new rotor. Like others mentioned, don't neglect your threadlocker.

Rotors are easy... it's the brake calipers that are a b****.

Don't miss a chance to clean any rust build up forming around where the rotors sit. This will ensure a flat fit and limit any chance of pulsation because of a rotor that isn't seated properly.

Thanks guys all good suggestions. I have thread locker, just wanted to know how hard it was to separate the rotors from the hubs. I am on it thanks a lot. I am looking forward to the brembos and metal master pads, oh what stopping power it will be. Again thanks for the heads up.

A few taps from a hammer against the rotor will break it loose from the hub. Should'nt be a big deal at all.

If you haven't completed the job yet, I suggest you clean and repack the wheel bearings. Make sure you use *NEW* cotter pins. Consider changing the inner seals while it's all apart.
