That could work. I am going to use the 94 instead.

so, no company in the tri citys has all thread in m12x1.25

so I ordered a meter of it through fastenal. Which means I will probably make a few sets. So If any one wants to try them out let me know.

Ok so I'm going to put it this way..If you don't care about your 240 feeling like a vibrating dildo then go for something like what I did, they are rubber but hard a a mother fuuu still. I'd for one not skip comfort for cheap (but good for track ONLY) mounts..Well, maybe.. go for it people, it's a whole new game with them.

Wow...I would LOVE to see you prove this statement...in this universe, not the BS factory you live in.

Dattebayo is right, you'll want something that was made for the purpose of holding up an engine, not something that was made to slide on ice. You can use whatever you want with whatever durometer rating you want, but hockey pucks have practically no damping and makes daily driving quite the chore. Do it and you'll see what we are talking about.

That would not be hard at all! Simply install an air temperature sensor on your cold pipe and record the temperature with the Greddy unit installed and then the Ebay unit installed. The only foreseeable difference could be when comparing a bar-and-plate intercooler to a tube and fin intercooler, but at that point the test results are null and void due to differences in the test. I'm willing to bet money that the difference between a Greddy core and an "Ebay" core of the same design and same size will only have a +/-5* F temperature difference, and if you're concerned about that you should look into some sort of water to air intercooling system.

What you should be more worried about is core size. The large Greddy core that everyone seems to get is way oversized for anything close to stock. Just because it can handle 500 whp doesn't mean it's better, it just means it's going to take longer for your turbo to fill the core with positive pressure.

I think you should think about things logically before assuming someone lives in a factory that produces bull****.

I actually know many people who have used eBay cores AND greddy/trust/namebrand cores and attest to the massive efficency differences in an endurance track setting. Personally, I will be using a cxracing core due to it's price difference but I would never claim it is relatively identical to a quality, name brand product.

It is hilarious that people praise Koyo radiators and shat on eBay radiators, yet think intercoolers are so different. They have a very similar design and it does make a difference.

But, I digress that for light track (not competitive racing) an eBay core works perfectly fine.

Im not flaming on you but....

everyone knows people that have done some thing. Meaning until some one posts video with recorded data of intake temperatures, this conversation and topic is useless as it is no more than he said she said bs

Exactly. You said some bulls***, and I am pointing it out. YOU made the claim, I am telling you that your full of s***.Sorry for the harsh tone, but it really bugs me when people make baseless claims from things they "heard" or "read" and it is simply unrealistic to have video proof of everything. You don't have to believe me, but as I said, many of my friends (real friends, not internet friends) have shown me the differences. And again, you made the claim, I believe the burden of proof is on YOU to prove it.

I would be more than happy to run a test like this however I would never spend that kind of money for a greddy unit. Period. I don't give a $hit if it drops temps another 20 degrees, I will not purchase some thing so over priced. Tell ya what, until anyone or better yet, until Greddy provides real unbiased data comparing similar IC's on the same engine in the same conditions, I will continue to believe that an ebay intercooler is just as good as the greddy unit and at a fraction of the price.

Another thing to consider... Do you assume that the oil catch can produced by greddy is any better than an OBX can off ebay?

Im just saying that there is no proof that a big name like Greddy is any better or worse than a company like OBX or ISIS when it comes to these kind of parts.

my claim was bull$hit? In that case yours is just as much.

So you would be more than happy to run the test but never will, that makes this entire paragraph a waste of breath.

Your comparing a catch can to an intercooler. I don't think I need to explain to you the massive differences between the two, but then again, you seem pretty moronic. I can make a catch can out of a bottle...all it does is hold oil while an intercooler has a direct affect on the engines operating temperature. You are comparing apples to oranges which makes this point, also a waste of breath.

We are not comparing companies, we are comparing products. You have some serious hate for namebrand products. I encourage you to build you car entirely of eBay parts, just like the proof that is all over the internet, in video, picture, and print, your car will be a piece of crap. Please keep supporting cheap knockoff parts of inferior quality so all real companies go out of business and the entire car community gets stuck in a no-r&d limbo with no new products.
s13-t wrote:my claim was bull$hit? In that case yours is just as much.
Wow ok. So let's break this down:You claim that two products are the same, just with different branding and price. I ask you to prove it, and you tell me you would, but will never purchase both products. I explain the differences. You compare intercoolers to catch cans.

You sir, fail at debate.

At this point in time I would not spend the money simply to answer a question.

I was actually comparing a catch can to a catch can. a price difference of $120 to $40. similar to greddys outrageous price for their IC'S compared to a company like cxracing.

I don't have hate for name brand products. I wouldnt run any other turbo than Garrett. I built my motor with ARP hardware, CP pistons and rings, ACL bearings, a cosworth HG, BC valve springs, and I will soon ad some tomei poncams. Also included in my build will be a PBM mid mount, as well as their coil overs. edit: I also ran a Greddy rs bov for a while.

I am against products with a a small level of engineering being sold at such a high price.

As long as the welds on the ebay intercooler are fine and it doesn't leak, which my cxracing unit ran perfectly, what makes you think they are out performed by greddy?

CUSTOM MOTOR MOUNTS FTW?!I want some personal experience!!What about a homemade catch can and IC?!?!

IC only cools air...not much to it but to do it

Lets knock off the arguments, this is for custom motor mounts? I want to know more before it gets locked!

I will be making them this weekend and will post pics. then as soon as I have my build done and running i will post a link to a youtube vid of the vibration.

on a side note... A kid in a "propane build" thread made his own IC design that worked amazingly well.

Just to update this old thread I broke my passenger motor mount yesterday. I worked the clutch and gas just right and felt my exhaust hit the car under my feet. Got home and pulled out the top inch of allthread I used in the mounts. I'll put pictures in here in a bit. So if you do build these... use stronger bolts?

Let me tell you, the urethane does indeed dampen quite a bit.
