My windshield got hit by a rock, and unfortunately it looks like my insurance company won't pay for a Nissan replacement windshield despite my full glass coverage. They'll pay for an OEM equivalent from Pilkington, PPG, or one of the other major OEM suppliers, but not the Nissan one (why I don't know). I'm concerned that the aftermarket ones might not look exactly like the original and end up looking bad...can anyone comment on whether or not my concern is valid?

The aftermarket ones will look just fine. However, I don't recommend you get PPG I've heard that it is cheap glass. Other than that though...you should be just fine.

Pilkington or PPG are both good quality windshields. The key also is who installs it. Stay away from some of the chain glass shops like Safelite. Most of ours don't install well. We have a private windshield company that we use that does great work. I would suggest asking your dealer who they use for their installations.

PPG is an OEM supplier to Mercedes among others, I can't imagine it's that cheap.

I've told my insurance company in no uncertain terms that I'm not letting Safelite come anywhere near my car. I'm going to be calling the two Infiniti dealers in the area on Monday and getting their suggestions. I've also asked for suggestions on the forums too so I should be able to find a good installer.
