I have been looking to do a custom set up once i do my rebuild but I have found some kits online for the DE but i have the E motor, i still want to go custom to save money so my main question is : 1) Does anyone have a custom kit installed on there 24E and what are your opinions?

2) Will any ka24de parts turbo and not turbo, fit on the ka24e engine?

Anything will help. Thank you.

I'm in the "process" of gathering turbo parts for my ka24e.

I believe the only real difference in the 24de kit is the exhaust manifold. Everything else should be fairly "universal."

I came in thinking I would spend about $1500 total on parts for my turbo. Well, I think now it's going to be closer to 2-3k. And most of the parts are used.

I know they sell log manifolds on eBay, may not be the best choice, but the most economical.

I would probably just start by learning how a turbo works, if you don't know already, and checking out the turbo forum faq's.

There are sooo many diff ways to set up a turbo for cars it's ridiculous.

Good thing I had the help of a couple nico members w/ many hours of chatting :). I'm still confused as hell, but I figured I'd write a term paper on turbochargers now, hahaha.

Nice start:http://auto.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm

Then off to the ka turbo forum. They go into loottsss of detail. Be prepared for some major reading. Learn up on it now so you don't regret later.

Nope...stock HG is great.

If it's tuned poorly and it detonates, you'll break a piston ring land before you blow the HG.

To the riginal poster: The KA24E is a good choice for a turbo setup...8.6:1 compression, base timing is only 15 BTDC and the ECU timing advance is not that aggresive...so it's a reasonable choice.

But be sure to retard the base timing a little, or use a MSD BTM to control timing. Fuel is easy, timing control is not. And that's what blows many N/A motors with turbos bolted on.

Have fun with it...

ahem....http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....79963

take a look. I don't have the price list at the moment, but I'll post it later. See if you like my FMIC piping idea. I think most DIYers would be interested in it.
