I was thinking about getting a JWT equivalent ECU, and hearing how they are nearly impossible to get, and the Stillen ones are 800 (WAY out of my range), I wanted to know if anyone here does it.... I assume I would send in my ECU, they would reprogram it and then send it back... How much would something like that cost???

Id also like to know what it does..... I heard from Q45tech that it leans out the mixture, and moves the rev limiter to 7300...... Is that all??

My Q is a TCS, non active, California....

Hi Elwesso, a co. called technosquare in torrance california does reprogramming. They list 1994 Q45 at $495.00. There no. is 310-787-0874,web site is http://www.technosquareinc.com. Their site tells what their ECU reprogram does. Ask for Danny Lee. Hope this helps

I got mine from aaacomp for alot less than $450 and it does work. I put the ecu in 1qckser's Q and he was very impressed. He said he wanted to get one.

As a matter of fact, I'll be sending my TCU to aaacomp to have him reprogram that as well.

Personal preference, I'd only use JWT. Yes, Virginia, it takes for-e-ver to get it back. (My 91 SE-R w/ 100 shot module took 5 *months*, but that was because I told them "take your time, I'm in no rush")

Best way to do that is to pick up a ecu & tcu from a junkyard, install them in your car & send them yours. That way when you do get yours back it's an unexpected Christmas present.

By & large, a JWT ecu advances the timing to take advantage of 93 octance *exclusively*, bumps the rev limiter, corrects any anomalies in the a/f mixture, (perhaps a little leaner where it can be and/or adds fuel where necessary,) and moves any speed limiter to a speed beyond where the car would ever reach anyway.

Edit: On this application, engages VVL sooner.

Aaacomp did it. It took him less than a week to get it back to me.

Call the number on his website and you might get a quicker response. I talked to him about three weeks ago.

We removed the ecu from Qships car and placed it in mine and I can honestly say it made a really nice difference, the power seems like it really comes on after 4000 rpms, after my suspension is complete I will be purchasing my ECU from him.:)

JWT also changes the tip in throttle retard; When you WOT from standing still the ecu doesn't remove as much advance and the amount it does is added back sooner........makes it feel a little peppier.

With any ecu reprogramming you must make sure the coolant temp NEVER exceeds 194.9F as read and translated by ecu as the lack of knock protection [less knock retard] can be harmful to engine.

On this Aaacomp ecu, do they replace the daughter board like on the JWT? That's the way my 91 SE-R was done, I guess it's the same with the other Nissan ECU's?

At least with JWT, reprogramming is quick, once it's been done the first time.
