Post

I recently got into a little smaller with my qx4, so it needs some body work, so its at the shop for a good 2 weeks.

During this downtime I bought 2 big 15's for the back. I need to make a box and I was thinking of making it right up ther center.

Can someone bust out a measuring tape if you have a free minute and give me some dimensions for the rear of the trunk?

distance between wheel wellsdistance from top of rear seat to floordistance form top of rear seat to back window (so I dont make it to long and cant shut the door!!)and possibly how far from the floor to the bottom of the window

Id appreciate if someone had the time guys my cars quite a ways away

Thanks alot

distance between wheel wells 37.5"distance from top of rear seat to floor 17"distance form top of rear seat to back window 32"from the floor to the bottom of the window 15.5"

These measurements are approximate and if anything, I errored on the side of being conservative so that the box doesn't turn out to be 1/2" to wide or the tailgate wont shut or something like that.

Also, if you have a rear cargo cover, make sure it clears the box. Mine comes real close. Remember that the rear seat reclines, that actually changes some of the dimensions, depending on how much u recline the rear seats

haha youre not the first pathfinder owner to be surprised the same lever that releases the seat to move forwards, allows it to move backwards. On another note, you know you can combine the front and back to make a luxury recliner for two? SnowSurfLax posted some pics of it a few months ago.

You can see, half the rear reclined, half at normal position, and LA-Z-BOY recliner status

The measurement from the seat to the door was with the seat in about the middle position. With it in the reclined position, it's close to 28" to the back door.

Also with the rear cover taken into consideration (it's on a bit of an angle),between the floor and the cover at the point closest to the front of the car it's 14.5"at the point closest to the rear door (floor to cover) it's 13"
