sounds exactly like the MAF. Try cleaning it with a MAF CLEANER SPRAY from your local autoparts store or look at changing it. Also, check your distributor

when the maf begins to fail you'll notice it as a slow death. It will start great and drive fun for a few mins then slowly act up while driving then as your on a decel coming to a stop it will bog and simply shut down.

time for a new one homie!

Check your ECU coolant temp sensor.

I believe ducky hit it on the head. Coolant temp sensor for sure. Hints the reason once its warmed up it acts funny. The MAF would die a "slow" death, but it'd only take a couple days. . .

Did you try a different mass air flow sensor because i went through the same problem with mine

Have you thought about the IACV?

If it's the IACV when it does die you can keep it running by keeping the throttle partially open.

Heres a repost of what I said to another member

Have you resistance tested your coolant temp sensor?......
It works on the basis of resistance decreases with increasing temperature, and its called a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor.... I would definitely start with that ....

Basically the ecu uses this (ect) output as well as other sensors to develop an advance strategy to maintain proper afr ratios for optimum fuel economy and horsepower.... It effectively +/- the short term fuel trim etc....

I would personally verify this with the ohm meter setting on a digital multimeter and check the resistance values.....
The fsm should list the operating ohmage range specs....
Now this is one possibility ......

I would def ask maybe a mod, if the maf has a built in intake air temp sensor, as alot of hotwire and hotscreen type mafs do

Repost :

Coolant Temp Sensor:

to test your cts get an ohm meter and unplug the sensor and check the resitance of the sensor. you will also need a thermometer to check the temp of your coolant. the values are as follows:
Resistance 2.1 - 2.9 K ohms at 68 deg F
0.68 - 1.00 K ohms at 122 deg F
0.236 - 0.260 K ohms at 194 deg F

As this value decreases the computer increases fuel load and retards timing to lower cylinder head temps and reduce detonation.
