Heres a repost of what I said to another member
Have you resistance tested your coolant temp sensor?......
It works on the basis of resistance decreases with increasing temperature, and its called a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor.... I would definitely start with that ....
Basically the ecu uses this (ect) output as well as other sensors to develop an advance strategy to maintain proper afr ratios for optimum fuel economy and horsepower.... It effectively +/- the short term fuel trim etc....
I would personally verify this with the ohm meter setting on a digital multimeter and check the resistance values.....
The fsm should list the operating ohmage range specs....
Now this is one possibility ......
I would def ask maybe a mod, if the maf has a built in intake air temp sensor, as alot of hotwire and hotscreen type mafs do
