whitish smoke coming from exhaust manifold/turbo rb25

so today i rolled my car out of the garage under its own power for the first time and waited for it to warm up, as it was warming some smoke started to come from the turbo/exhaust manifold, so i shut it down fast.

the engines a stock rb25 series 1 in an s14, with 3'dp and a front mount ic

could just be oil/grease or coatings burning off. Pretty normal for new **** to smoke a little.

It's a regular occurence; it happend to me too, and went away. Just make sure you're not leaking oil.

yeah same here, was just oil and dirt and **** that got on it through the process of the swap, should go away pretty soon if it doesn't then you have other issues lol

yea it was just residue burning off, however i noticed theres a white residue on the oil cap after it warms up... and theres still white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. gonna do a leakdown... sigh

white crap on the engine oil cap indicates blown hg and the continuation of white smoke out the exhaust further supports this hypothisis.

Are you sure white? In my experience it's milkshake color from the mixing of oil and coolant.

yea its milky, not too much tho, its the first time ive warmed it up too

ive seen it both ways, sometimes the coolant will seperate from the oil tho if you let it sit over night and looks sort of like thick mayo.

i would guess its just moisture buildup from sitting and nothing to be real worried about. i've seen it on a few jdm motors, especially when its cold out. have you checked the coolant for oil yet?
