How are you going to have a build thread and no story behind it or pics of the car.

This isnt a build thread, this is a I found pics of someone elses work and claimed it as mine thread...

I am tired of all these new members and their build threads being a pic of the car or a part that they put on it. A build thread is to show progress of a build, not just three parts that you installed or you found pics of a car with those parts already installed.

nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnno!

ok i guess it's a bit over the top. if you didn't understand what i was saying, basically just read what you type before you post. of course we know what you mean half the time, but if it's funny in all its typo glory, imma laugh.

then again... i really like typing in Patois. it flows so much easier than this "proper" stuff.

hell yea i made a joke of it. see in life there are two kinds of people. those who laugh at the mistakes of other, yet wants no one to laugh at theirs and make excuses why not to laugh. so they themselves can't laugh at their own mistakes. and then there are those who can laugh at mistakes because they know that they themselves also make mistakes and don't let excuses allow them not to laugh at themselves. i've long ago learn to laugh at myself, so i say it gives me the right to laugh at others. if laughing at your mistakes means i need to grow up, then i'll pass on the "grow up a little" offer.

First things first. Your white Zenki is sexy (sorry guys, I'm bias ). Next, to everyone that always respond with flaming and sarcasm ... Wow, how do we expect to keep members or get new ones? I know some are easy to spot, but give people a chance. Look, the guy posted pics which is more than some others do (hell, just like the guy that posted many pics at the dyno along with stats, and yet still gets flamed). Unbelievable. I guess some people just want to always find the negativity in everything. Anyway, I read here also that the brake pics may be have been jacked ... okay, prove it, don't flame it. I for one have been on many other sites such as with my Nova and older Skylarks and yeah, I'm guilty of using other's pics ... BUT only if I simply never took the pic of my OWN mod. However, I would state that the pics were not of my own car and that I was borrowing from someone else's pics, but I do actually have the part ... ya know? I have to say that when someone states this is a 'build' thread, you need to give it time. Yeah, it's nice when someone documents their whole build and THEN posts everything at once. However, I like to FOLLOW a build, no matter how gradual it may be. Oh, and look at that, he even posted a before and after shot of the coilover install. Just an opinion to offer though: Take detailed pics of the actuall PROCESS of your build, not just before and after. I think it helps with the credibility and to fend off the nay-sayers. It also relates different installation experiences with maybe a same part that somebody else installed. Anyway, congrats on the car WhiteZenki23, and welcome to the forum. I look forward to your build.

Hey, I didn't realize you're that close. I'll have to check out the scene sometime. Right now, I've got to put rear tires on. Aside from the tread-to-sidewall splitting on these drag-radials, I also found a huge gash in the center of one of them, deep enough that the radial wires came through, EEK! So, at $240 bucks per tire it might be a little bit of time. And BTW, nice pics (that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about)!

This isnt a build, you installed brakes, a diff, and coils. Big deal. A BUILD requires more than a couple parts being installed, and also generally includes a plan of things to do with a LEGITIMATE timeline as well as proper means to do so.

Sorry kid but this aint a build, this is you installing a couple parts on your car.

At the sake of argument, just give the noobs a chance. We've all been there at one time and you think he used the wrong term in his title just look past it. He did say "drift build", and I believe suspension has something to do with it ... so let's see what happens. And why does anyone need to give a timeline? Are we all sponsored and under pressure to perform within a given period? Nah, this is just a forum to share with others your experiences in words and/or pictures. Sorry [everyone], but it just gets me when somebody is exicited about working on their ride only to be constantly shot down.

Im not trying to be an ***hole, because this build could go somewhere but Im tired of seeing people wasting space on this forum tossing a couple parts on their car and calling it a "build" then never updating it again because it wasnt a build, it was them installing aftermarket parts on their car.

There is NOTHING wrong with installing parts on your car and I more than encourage people to post up when they install new parts but dont piss in my cheerios & call it milk. And yes a timeline is essential to a build because if there was no timeline than it isnt a build...its just puting new parts on your car when you can.

Wow way to encourage a fellow enthusiast. This is the reason people do not feel welcome in here and wait until thier projects are completed before even posting. Though I do agree some sort of plan will assist him in staying on track and so will a timeline but neither of these things are a absolutely nessesary.

But Nice zenki bro, how big is that meet in West Palm I live In Coral Springs wondering if its worth the trip. Good luck with the BUILD and very nice start.

First, you're not being an ***hole. I agree with both sides, but it's just nice to see people offer positive critisim and/or encouragement, albeit for a lack of choice words on thread titler's part, especially a noob. I don't know about you, but I'm still 'building' my ride too ... it's a never ending process!

Woot! Another Florida build!

Looks clean. Are those D2's maxed out? If so I'm deffinately getting Stance. That's not low enough for my liking.

I haven't been to any meets for a while. There's a bunch during the week but the big on is Thursdays. Need to get my S12 running and my carb adjusted before I start going to anything again.

Also, who cares if it's not a build. It's an upgrade and he just wants to show us and be part of the forum. Chillax guys.

This guy seems to be doing it right. Plus he's not responding negatively to your snide remarks. Builds do have a start and are not complete when until they're complete so when he has a couple parts installed that's perfectly fine. If he said ok, brakes are done and that's it, then flame. I wish instead of locking some threads we could just lock certain posters out of them.
