While I agree the SS agents need to be held accountable, saying that THEY bear the burden of fault is like saying the security guard on duty during a bank heist should be charged as a criminal.
It don't work that way.
These two need to be made an example of. And the POS mainstream media played RIGHT into their hands by giving them TONS and TONS of press.
Those who claimed the intruders never had access to the POTUS should be relieved of duty. Now.
Oh, and Howie? I could give a damn about the POTUS or the VPOTUS, other than I just don't want to see Pelosi in the Oval Office.

Nope. It's because she's Black.telcoman wrote:or is it because she is a woman?
Oh wait! Now? Now, gender is an issue? After what you fascists did to Palin and Bachmann, because they were women who dare not tote the Feminist Party line? And had the guts to think independently for themselves. Get real!telcoman wrote:or is it because she is a woman?Modified by telcoman at 5:49 PM 11/30/2009
Precisely. What can they be charged with? They can't be charged with trespassing because they weren't trespassing. They were given permission to enter. It would be trespassing if they were denied entry and then sneaked in. They didn't endanger the president's life. They were just given access to something they really weren't supposed to have, which is a breach in security, not a crime on the couple's behalf. They just happened to be in the right spot at the right time. The government can walk into the private sector and say security isn't tight enough, but when the private sector does that to the government, they get charged?Bubba1 wrote:But I'm curious what crime they could be charged with?
Trespassing?

I believe they can be charged with lying to the Federal Government (why I had to be exactly truthful in my security clearance application and in the interviews the OPM.gov gave me.) Also, I believe it is probably illegal trying to enter a Federal Government installation under false pretenses. budsmockers83 wrote:

I agree that what they did really shouldn't have been attempted, but I'm just saying.
Yup, just like the flight line on any air base. You can't just be there without clearance. Ignorance of the law is not a valid excuse.Cold_Zero wrote:

You have to be cleared to be there. If your not cleared you're there illegally and can be charged with lots of things...just like a military installation or anything that's supposedly secure.smockers83 wrote:

The two examples are totally different. One is a min wage guy with a gun that's there to deter criminal actions simply by being IN VIEW. They aren't a branch of the Gov. They aren't trained like the SS. They aren't tasked with the surveillance and scheduling of EVERYTHING Gov officials do. Have a cup of reality Greg, they screwed the pooch so badly it's embarrassing. If they took out Ads for help wanted, they'd have 30,000 qualified applicants to weed through within the week. Can't do your job, gtfo, plenty of people that would love to do it. Repo is out of work, I bet he'd love to be SS.AZhitman wrote:While I agree the SS agents need to be held accountable, saying that THEY bear the burden of fault is like saying the security guard on duty during a bank heist should be charged as a criminal.
Gingrich is a blowhard, an attention whore, and an unprincipled power grabber.AZhitman wrote:It speaks volumes about Howie's relative lack of knowledge of all things political when he thinks Gingrich "incompetent" and Pelosi "accomplished".
Gingrich is widely regarded as quite impressive, even by the Left.
