Hi there, i have an '09 G37s with 52k miles. lately since end of november i have notice that once in a while i see a white steam smoke coming out from the front of the car, where the infiniti grill is. i tried to see where it comes from but theres no luck. As far as the temp of the eng is normal on the dashboard and there are no warning lights pupping out. Driving wise is normal just like i bought it. I'm running out of ideas where to chack as far as simple checks before i go to the mechanic/dealer. Is there a topic about this issue in this forum and if there is can somebody give me the link so i can see what i can do about it? If not, a piece of an advice would be very appreciated.

P.S*
forgot to add, that everytime i turn on the A/C along with the heat, the steam smoke goes away. after i shut off the a/c and have the heater on or off, the steam smoke comes back after 10-15 min of either idling the car or driving it. Hope this info will help to resolve this issue.

I assume this happens when its not either raining or snowing? If so, you have a coolant leak. Check all of your hoses and hose clamps first. Worst case is a leaky head gasket. Pretty sure it's not a cracked head or you'd have white smoke out of the exhaust. Keep a close eye on your coolant level and find the leak soon as leaks don't get smaller or go away on their own.

Well lately it has happen whenever... Not just when it snows or rain... Even when is dry weather... And coolant as far as I remember its the same level as I bought it.. ( June 2013) I'll check the hoses but not that familiar with infiniti.. I'll try to Google where are the parts and etc. But thanks for giving me a direction where and what to look for.

I've seen a few threads with this. It's just water that is retained behind the front grill (after a carwash or rain, snow, etc.) that gets blown onto your motor while driving and as a result steam develops. Ever tried getting out of your car and running your hand over that steam and then smell ur hand hand? If it was radiator fluid your temp. gauge and the odor of the fluid would tell u right away.
