White Smoke When Starting

2007 g35 30k miles....when starting engine cold and only after it has sit overnite I see white smoke coming from the exhaust....not just a puff... I can see it above the trunk when looking thru rear view mirror....no change in temperature and it has only happened 2 times that I have noticed....any suggestions?

Condensation perhaps?
If it only lasts a very short time I wouldn't be too concerned.

What is the outdoor humidity when it occurs?

I wouldn't be too concerned as long as you aren't having any overheating issues and/or the color of the oil looks normal still.

Check the oil and coolant levels...if either goes up or down it may be something more serious.

Does it go away right afterward? Have you jumped out to see if there is any odor?

possibly valve seals. don't see how they could go bad in 30k miles though?

Valve seals would cause oil leak, blue exhaust.

valve seals in my dads dodge are bad, smokes white on startup after sitting overnight. not blue.

well then he also has a coolant leak. More so than an oil leak.

had the same coolant in it since we bought it. never had to add any. I check all fluids weekly.

Not tryin to be a smartass or anything...

For the most part, white smoke means you're burning water/coolant and blue smoke is oil.

Just to clear this up. It's not like a brilliant blue. It definitely appears as white smoke with a slight blue tint when oil is burning through the exhaust.

Usually valve stem seals cause this issue. Being overfilled on oil will do it as well.
