Well, I went to a tmobile store today, and as I was leaving, when I started the car, it started to whistle, then POP, and sputter sputter sputter..

I added transmission fluid cause I needed it, and thinking the engine blew a gasket, I added two FULL quarts of 10w30..

THEN, I hear where the whistle was coming from, which was a vaccuum leak.. I re connected the hose, and zip tied it..

I start the car, it starts fine and dandy, but when Im driving down the main road, white smoke POURS behind me, I should upload the video of it, people get scared of it lol.

My question is, is the car burning oil because I added too much? Did I ruin something?
When I drain some of the oil will it subsied..? Sorry for the newbness but thanks for your time in advanced

It's not burning oil. Oil burns in a bluish color, and if i recall correctly coolant burns in a whitish color, which is why it's probaby your head gasket.

i agree, my head gasket and turbo seals blew (bad luck i guess) and i was burnning both oil and coolant. The oil was blueish (like 2 stroke smoke) and the coolant was white (they were not usually burning at the same time which confuses me even more). Good luck

My guess is you recently overheated or messed with the cooling system?

lol did no one read where I said I added two extra quarts of oil..

I came to the conclusion oil doesnt compress, therefore its getting into my exhaust and burning there.

I drained out about 2.5 quarts and the smoke is gone..
But also I added 1.5 quarts to the auto transmission cause Im foolish. Would that be the culprit for first gear bein laggy?

no i read what you said, but burning oil is a very distinct blueish color. Thats pretty weird that your losin oil and white smoke is comming out. If you dont have a problem doing it, i'd say park on a piece of cardboard (if you car is not too low lol), and check in the morning for dripps. Have you checked your coolant level?

I mean as long as the dipstick reads good I wouldnt worry. low coolant + missfire + white smoke = head gasket. I think it might just be 2 seperate problems. Leaking/burning oil along w a blown gasket.. Good luck

Do you under stand how an engine lubricates and cools? I read you were low on oil, and you added, but where is it going? Did you check for intermix, did you check compression.

^ my point exactly. If the oil looks like a melted chocolate frosty, you've got a problem.

Speaking of melted frosty. I had a late model RX8 come in for just an oil change. It had just turned 40k miles, fill with oil, start, check level.. chocolate shake. Stupid rotary's and their unreliability
