I have just put my engine back in after a pull. The only reason I pulled it was to clean up/paint the bay, change clutch, do some heat wrap/shielding, and add an upgraded oil cooler. I did take off both manifolds and the turbos (gt600s about a year old) to do some of the heat wrapping. I ended up changing both O2 sensors just because they were old originals. Didn't do anything internal. I did a vacuum test to make sure I didn't have any air leaks after I put everything back. Before I took out the motor I did not have any smoke out of the exhaust but now I have white smoke out of the right exhaust pipe when looking from the rear  . The smoke on start up is almost not noticeable until you give it its first rev. The smoke kicks out when you rev it and appears to be thin and not dense. After you rev it and it's back at idle you can faintly see a stream of the smoke flowing out. I noticed when you put your hand over that exhaust pipe the flow of air doesn't seem nearly as strong as the left exhaust pipe maybe not an issue or a sign of what's going on. The car idles perfectly fine, the temp at idle is good and the oil pressure sits between the first white line and 60 but closer to the white line. I have yet to drive it as I do not want to cause any problems till I have a better idea to what the issue could be. I am so stumped. Is there anything I could of done during the pull and put back that would now lead to this? Any help is appreciated!

Well, white smoke thick is usually a concern of blown head gasket allowing coolant in. Thinner vapors might not be that. I have seen a huge amount of smoke when watching the kids at Jiffy Lube do an intake cleaning procedure. Perhaps you have some loose gunk that is passing through and should give it some throttle to burn it off. I'd proceed, but with due caution and frequent monitoring of the details.

Well I have had the car running for a bit and still seems to smoke. I know coolant is the usual case but as I did not have a blown head before the pull it cant be that and for the heck of it I run it with the cap off and the Coolant doesn't jump out of the radiator when its cranked and while its running so there is no pressure pushing in from the combustion chamber. I thought about an internal coolant leak in the turbo but like I said it wasn't smoking before I pulled it so how could it now develop a coolant leak. This is why I'm still thinking it's something else.

update... After letting it sit longer I now see oil dripping out towards the end of the exhaust. So I am guessing that either some weird way my turbo seal on a 1 year old z1 gt600 has gone bad during my motor pull??? Or somehow its getting too much pressure and causes the oil to seep past the seal and into the exhaust side? Any thoughts before I have to rebuild a 1 year old turbo?

I didn't want to mention the turbo, because I wasn't sure (I don't have a turbo system) and I was hoping it wouldn't be that. Plus, I was thinking of coolant and thought turbos had an oil line, but not coolant lines. We have lot's of turbo members here, so I'm pretty confident someone can pipe in with some experience about seals and smoking and such. Best of luck!
