My friends S13 sr20 powered 240 began to puff out white smoke from his exhaust and that is why we came to the conclusion that he had a bad headgasket Is there anything else on the Sr that would cause such bad white smoke???

Since he ordered the Greedy metal HG we are going to begin taking his engine apart. But before we do this I wanted to ask some questions. I've done this before but on my old SOHC KA is it much of a difference??

2. what are the torque spec of all bolts or the most important ones, that will help alot

3. is there any specific order in doing this on the SR?

4. Any other advice will helpthanks

I know we can do this I believe we can:help :help :help

Turbo seals, turbo. Probably the problem.

White tailpipe smoke doesn't immediately mean head gasket.

Putting a metal head gasket on is not the same as a putting the oem one on. You have to get the block and head level by sanding out the high and low spots, and a good lapping job would help alot to, but its not necessary.

is the Turbo seals, turbo an easier fix than the HG?

I will do a compression test tomorrow and post up what I got I hope it is not the HG.

But how do I get a remote starting switch on the SR? On the KA just had to disconnect the High tension lead from the center of the distributor and ground it. The Sr has neither coil pack nor distributor.

or can I have someone just turn the ignition switch???
