Whenever I let my car idle for a while, and I reverse out of the garage, a good amount of white smoke exits my exhaust.

Do you guys know what could be causing this?

Is it something I should be worried about?

The car is a 1992 hatch-back and has 135,000 miles on it and the car seems to run fine.

Thanks for everyones help in advance.

I guess it happens when it's kind of cold. The car seems to run a little rough, but my friend who knows a lot about Nissan's doesn't seem to think so (he feels I just need new engine and transmission mounts, because the engine "rocks" on start up and a good amount of vibration can be felt through the steering wheel). I may just feel this way because my previous car was a 325is with the most velvety smooth Inline-six.

Maybe the car just needs a tune-up, I don't know.

tune it up, but if the car sits for periods of time, condensation forms inside the exhaust, burns off while warming up. if the problem is still there after heating up the exhaust all the way, then you may have an issue.
