if u have a strong gas smell along with white smoke (which is usually associated with burnt coolant meaning bad head gasket) then it could be your injector rings. dunno if injector rings would go bad after sitting for a while though.

if its overheating and the levels are down, chances are you are burning coolant which = hg

not nessicarliy. besides, i have never heard of a blown headgasket smoking so bad that smoke started to pour into the cabin. now i have heard of a thermostat leak causing almost blinding smoke in the engine bay and cabin.

White smoke out the back of the exhaust is usually a sign of a bad turbo. White smoke = Oil burning

I have no clue what would cause smoke to come out of the center console area though. Ive had turbos completely blow up and have plumes of white smoke come out the exhaust but it didnt come in the interior.

blue smoke is burnt oil. white is coolant. black is fuel.

That happened to me the first few times I took the car out for a spin and pounded on it. I had to use some carb spray through the throttle body, about one and a half can( more white smoke and some black smoke will come out. Change the oil 3 times (flush it everytime). Found I had an exhaust leak between the test pipe and exhaust pipe, which explained smoke came through around the shifter area. Change the spark plug, then add some smoke stop (oil add on), drive for around 500 miles and smoke should be gone by then. Smoke hasn't come back since then excpet for the strong fumes just like in a bike due to catless. Before I would go through that trouble however, I would make sure you are not running low on Coolant, and do not over fill your oil. The sr motor has so much less oil capacity about 3.5 quart. I think a lot of people has this priblem due to this enignes had been sitting in the junk yard for a long time, all that crap builds up inside and dried up some could just have locked rings.

Thanks to everyone so far who replied.....so far this is what i found out.....the smoke through the center console was coming from my cat which was missing one bolt..which i forgot..stupid mistake...but as of now the white smoke has gone away....and i also forgot to add that when this problem first arised...it was black smoke at first...i gased to it a few times..even made O's..then it turned white some how idk....the spark plugs are BRAND NEW i got NGK IRIDIUMS along with brand new coil packs...I did notice that my car kinda had a oil burning smell....i was told from a friend that i could be running reallly rich which...he also suggested that i change my fuel regulator...now if i find out that my head is bad or my turbo...my motor is going straight back to the motorsports store and there's gona be some exchange of words you know what i mean because how are you gona pay thousands of dollars for a bad motor when they guarantee that it works fine and everything is good you know what i mean..thats f***ed up if they sold me a bad motor...lol...ill check for coolant problems as well as monitor the oil....as of right now i have almost 400 miles...ima do a oil change as well and change coolant and check all hoses etc etc and make sure all is well....another problem i have is BADDDDDD start ups...sounds like it wants to die at first...i have to crank it four or five times before it starts but then barely catches and runs okay after....i checked the plugs coils battery igntion timing is fine...im thinking that because im running a stock fuel pump..that there isnt enough fuel being delivered...so my walbro will be in wednesday...and ill pick up some injector o rings just to be safe...if this doesnt fix it...ill post up and ask for advice

Sure you didn't put in too much oil? hate to admit it but that's what it sounds like. lots of smoke, bad starts etc. just my $0.05.

its a used motor. you don't have to break it in.

well you do need to break in a used motor, kinda. Its probably been sitting around awhile so its probably gotta a lot of crap built up so breaking it in is a good idea if thats what you want to call it. two words SEA FOAM! go to advanced auto parts and pick up one of the 16oz sea foam cans, inject it into a vacume line (brake booster line is easiest) and let it clean out the engine. A hell of a lot of smoke will come out the exhaust for like 10 mins but thats how you know its working, plus it looks cool as hell. good luck
