I am not sure I want to spend a lot of money on HID's so I am wondering what is the best 9005 bulb (low beam) that shines the whitest light? I see a lot on the road that have a purplish tinge to them which I do not want.

Have you looked at Philips X-treme Vision +100% bulbs?

Correction:
9005 = High beam
H11 = Low beam

as stated prior, h11 is the low beam, and 9005 is the high beam.

i just want to also clarify that unless you find a higher wattage bulb, no matter what color the glass is, its still going to put out the same amount of light. thats part of the marketing scheme out there, that companies use to trick unsuspecting buyers = blue-er color tricks people into thinking "brighter". (when its really the complete opposite). the brightest light you can have is 4300k - 5000k. that is as pure white, as it gets. anything blue = reduced light out-put.

if you do end up buying a higher wattage bulb, take caution as it will consume more power, and place your headlight bulb wiring harness into stress, causing the insulation to eventually overheat, reach its peak, and begin to melt = exposing your wires = shorting out your whole car. its a messy, slippery slope that i wouldnt even go near. your car is designed for 55wat low beam, 65watt high beam. any more and you will also begin to melt your inside reflector housing & headlight casing itself.

save yourself the money, hassle, and time = buy a 35watt 4300k HID/xenon kit and install it. its plug & play now a days, and requires minimal experience under the hood. the HID/xenon kit is the real deal, and will dramatically improve your night time driving, versus just play color-tricks on you.

Okay thanks. Any other brands I may consider? What about Sylvania at Canadian Tire?

Despite many negative comments, I still gave the after market HID XENON a try. Cost me around $40 from ebay. After 1.5 years, they are running just as strong. 6000K passed the inspection as well. Got my OEM in trunk, so that I can replace it any time in necessary.

i dont care about negative remarks regarding ebay style HID kits. i have used them in so many bikes & cars, and all worked flawlessly. the 2 ballasts that gave me crap, the guys replaced with no questions. i have them in my foglights right now as we speak, and my girls bike.

Found these on ebay Xentec HID BiXenon Xenon Conversion Kit 12K 5000K H11/9005 6000K. Has anyone purchased these for their Rogue? The 6000k looks a little whiter in the pics.

xentec is the largest seller on ebay for hid kits. so you know the factory OEM look is 4300k. so 6000k is gonna have a icy blue hue to it.

Okay so if I want pure white light I will go with the 5000k then. Just wondering if anyone has this kit on their Rogue and if they have had any issues with the ballasts? Also I figure for a little bit more $$ I might go with the bixenon to do both low and high beams.

you cant use bi-xenon. because you have two different bulbs for the high & low. bi-xenon is only for cars like ford, where the hi & low is ONE bulb with two filaments. (in this case, the hid bulb would be on a motor that moves it forward & back)

i have the 5000k in my foglights, and it looks amazing. pure white, super bright, and doesnt have the cheesy rice-racer look at all.

I think I will just buy a kit for the low beams then. Since I don't use my hi beams that often anyways. Could you post a pic with your 5000k fogs on?
