Ok, I have some things I need cleared up about the "White Bunny" clutch setup for the KA.

As some of you may know, the "White Bunny Special" involves installing a 240mm D21 (Nissan pickup) flywheel on the KA, therefore opening up a variety of durable and inexpensive clutch options. One of the cheapest is the installation of a stock D21 clutch disc and pressure plate, which is surprisingly strong.

I have three questions:1. How many ft/lbs of torque can a stock D21 clutch and pressure plate handle? I heard 400, but I'm not sure.2. To those of you that have used it, does it feel stock? I need something streetable.3. Are there any better choices for clutch disc/ pressure plate? I was reading about other 240mm clutches such as the 280zx turbo, 300zx n/a, and 350z, but I want to know which one is the best for the money.

Do some more searching. From what I read a few weeks ago, the pedal feels stock. And I believe people use the D21 flywheel and 280zx clutch, not a D21 clutch.

"Now the pressure plate and clutch disc are varied. We used the stock setup of the afor-mentioned 93 D21, but common clutches used are off the 280Z Turbo, the 300ZX Turbo, and the RB series clutches. You can use both aftermarket and stock as long as it is 240mm. But one rumor surrounding this special is the truck and 280Z clutch can hold balls of torque, some saying near 400ft/lbs and they still retain stock pedal feel and longer life than aftermarket clutches. I'm still searching for the answer, but I read it went on Mike Lee's T66 KAT, and it had no problems holding 500rwhp."

Yeah I had read that article several times lol, it seems that it is the only informative write-up out there... He says that the "truck clutch" (referring to d21?) and 280z clutch can hold near 400ft/lbs of torque, anyone want to confirm this? I'm only looking to make 250-300 hp on my future ka24det build, but want room to upgrade. Plus, who can turn down a $200 clutch setup that can hold those numbers?

one of my friends that's a 240 guy i met when we both worked at the Nissan dealer kept telling me about using an RB20 flywheel and a Z33 clutch.

I know the torque capacity has alot to do with surface area and its mostly on the clutch disc and pressure plate clamping force.

the Z33 clutch is at least gunna hold up to what 300hp/tq or what ever the VQ makes.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with a D21 flywheel and D21 clutch disc/pressure plate, as I just got an autozone gift card for $150 as a late christmas present... I think it will do fine, if the rumors about holding 400ft/lbs are anywhere near true lol. I'll try it out and let you guys know, unless I see a cheaper 240mm disc/pp setup.

I have a lightweight RB20/25 flywheel and an OEM Exedy 350Z clutch. Pedal feel is amazing. It turned out to be one of the few things the previous owner was able to do right.

That's what I said when I learned about this earlier... a stock feeling clutch that can hold 400ft/lbs for $215?
