From about 3400-3700 rpms there is a considerably loud whistling sound. It does it accelerating, decelerating or any other time it passes through or stops in that rpm range. I can hold it there (45ish in 3rd) and it will whistle the whole time. Best I can guess its a vacuum leak somewhere. Took it to the shop and three mechanics swear they dont hear it but I know I'm not crazy (well maybe I am, but its surely whistling) So what's the best way to track a vacuum leak or what else could it be?

Ball bearing? Maybe the belts need to be tighten. I'm having the similar problem with my car, though it's VERY random. Never seems to make the noise when a mechanic is around :P
