Hi.My I30 make strange noise when the engine is running. When I start the engine is ok, then 5 min later, the engine make whistling noise (like a whistle sound fee~ fee~).However when I push the accelerator, it is gone. It is same as when I'm driving. When I stopped the traffic signal, it made noise. And when I pushed the accelerator to go, it is gone.

So, I went to repair shops, actually three different shop, they told me all different diagnosis. First shop told me it is from A/C condenssor, Sencond shop: it is from serpentine belts. Last one told me: it is leaking air from engine somewhere. It need to check whole engine.

I don't know who is right. Would you let me know? Thanks.

Did you change the air intake? After you put an intake on, all of them start making the whistle.

you can get the FSM online at phatg20 dot com. Gives details on part #'s and instructions. Also would recommend getting the chiltons AND haynes AND the FSM (free onlline and its the most expensive - so thats bueno..)

I replaced idler pulley with drive belt but it doesn't get rid of the whistling noise. I asked a repair shop near my home, they also didn't find anything.I just found the noise is happend since the engine temperature is normal. The weather is hot, it comes from early. So I think it related to the engine vacumm things or cooling system because of it is definitely noise which is made by wind sound. I still have no idea.

Can you get a piece of hose and put it to your ear and then place the other end of the hose around the engine bay to determine exactly where the noise is coming from? You're not doing nearly enough diagnostic work here for anyone to be able to properly troubleshoot this particular problem.

Thanks for advice. I will do it what you let me know tomorrow. When I came back home tonight, the car made noise as soon as the engine was started. I think because of hot weather condition (almost 95F).
