When I start the car up now it sounds like its ringing and whisteling I lift the hood and it doesnt sound happy I have no clue where the sound is coming from. It seem to go away or atleast quiet down when I have driven the car for a while. Kinda sounds like either bearings or a vacum leak but the car runs pretty smooth. I might just have to take it to the dealer =(

Verified with the dealer and the water pump was replaced at 91k, so that shouldnt be the problem as I flush the cooling system every year. COuld the sound be another pully starting to seize up? It really doesnt sound like a air leak but like somehting is rubbing together type of thing

The idler pulleys that are used to adjuct the belt tension are probably bad at your mileage. Loosen the belts and check them, they should spin freely and silently.

When my idler pullies were bad I got a screeching noise at high rpms only. But I replaced before they got too bad.

Rev the engine very high and if the sound is amplified it's probably the pullies. They're about $40 each, might as well replace all three (PS, A/C, Alt.)
