It has been raining where I live and I am afraid I might have gotten my cold air intake wet. I don't have a bypass valve, so if my intake sucked up water am I *$@% or what do I do to fix it?

I don't want to pay a lot of money to get my car repaired so I hope I don't have to, but I will if I need to.

You advise and answers to my above question would be greatly appreciated

What CAI do you have?? Why would you not have a diverter valve on?????

Are you sure that the intake isn't just loose at one of the clamps???

Is this a new mod for you and your not used to the woot/swoosh/whistle sound?

More info....

Unless you went through a large puddle, I wouldn't worry about it. The whistle is probably coming from something else...or like G_Whizz said, a lose connection.

If you have hydrolock, the car would not start. Take off the filter and drive the car for a min to see if the noise goes away.

When is it that you hear the whistle?

I only hear my intake when my windows are down during a specific RPM range/acceleration speed = that is the JWT popcharger. are you sure this is not what it is?

I know what my air intake sounded like before and now this is an entirely new sound. It only occurs when I hit the accelerator. It is a high pitch whistle. The intake is located near the bottom upper left of the car right in front of the tire, so it is in a difficult spot to get the filter off so by any chance could I maybe just maybe get a blow dryer and dry it?
