Ok, so recently my car has started making a whirring sound at idle. I don't know if it continues during normal driving or just idle because its too quiet to hear during revving. My guess is it's a belt of some sort or a squeaky fan. I don't think it is anything to worry about, I just want to fix it if at all possible to get the nice engine sound back without a whistling whirring sound on top of it. If anyone has any idea what I could do to help it I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks.

check your a/c idler pulley. if you can with the car running place a long screw driver on the pulley lock nut and place your ear against the handle the sound should be almost deafning. you should also be able to feel it when placing the screw driver against the locking nut or adjusting bolt. be carful though you have moving parts all around that area(i.e. belts fan blade pulleys)
