Whirring noise when stopping

Since I got my 2010 Rogue I've noticed a "Whirring" noice when slowing down to a stop (engine brake). It's sort of like a low pitch whistle dropping in tone. It doesn't happen any other time and it never happend on my 08 Rogue. Could this be possibly be a loose belt? I'm taking it in on Thursday so I thought I'd try to figure out where it might be coming from.

"Whirring" noise like a gurgle sometimes, when you are close to stop, just before the torque converter disengages?

If that is the case, I have the same noise, and I believe it is from the CVT getting a bit loose: CVT still in high gear ratio with no load from the engine, in fact in engine braking mode, pulling the CVT.

I am not in a rush to tell the dealer about it as we have the 10 years warranty on that, but I will talk about it next time (in quite a while) I see them.

Meanwhile, please let us know what your dealer thinks about it.

I posted in another thread regarding noise issues and I'll restate the same here:

My 2008 Rogue typically makes a higher pitched whirring sound on deceleration/acceleration in the 50-90km/h range. It's not very loud or obtrusive. It's been like this for the past 2 years. The CVT checks out fine however and I have never had an issue.

Keep in mind the CVT operates and makes different noises than a conventional transmission. It may be unsettling or unnatural to some.

Did anyone ever isolate the issue, I have the same noise on my Rogue.

I just bought a Nissan Rogue 2008 and i get a strange whirring noise when the car is slowing down on its own (engine breaking). The noise is the loudest at 40 KM/s and then fades off.

I took it back to the garage and they said they had changed the belts, oil and compressor but its made no difference.

Has anyone come across this or have any ideas what it might be.

Any suggests will be greatly appreciated.
