Hi all,

Took my Q for a drive today and when turning right while moving the front right wheel seems to make a whirring noise this only happens while moving and turning right.

When the car is stationary you can turn it lock to lock no problems and while moving you can turn left and its dead quiet. Power steering fluid level is fine and tyre is not scrubbing have tried 2 different sets of wheels too.

Any ideas on this issue, its quite noticeable while changing lanes on the highway.

Sam

This sounds like a classic bearing problem. With the wheel turned to the right, the bearings experience side loads.

As a first diagnostic step, I would suggest jacking up the front end until both front wheels are off the ground. Use jackstands for safety. Turn both wheels by hand. Bad bearings may feel gritty or lumpy. Then check for excessive side play.

If the bearing feel ok, double check the brake caliper assy for free travel left and right.

I wouldn't be surprised if you found the problem to be one or the other.

I agree, it could be the caliper dragging a bit but I bet it might be a bearing, usually the passenger side bearings like to go before the drivers side...
