Hi, I've been lurking here a while, but didn't have any need to post (or any expertise to share). Anyway, my 06 Sedan AT (50k) has been having this whirring noise at the shift from first to second. I don't notice it after the first couple of shifts that get me out of my neighborhood in the morning. The rest of the shifting is fine. I searched around here for some help, but none of the posts I found had anything similar. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris

Not sure what it could be without hearing it. Do you let the car warm up for a few seconds? Does it happen every time you use it, or only the first time in the morning?

I only hear it after it has been sitting a few hours, over night or occasionally after work. I wouldn't say that I warm it up. Just turn it on, get the seat belt on and then go. But, I'm not running hard.

Thanks,
Chris

Try warming it up before you leave after it's been sitting overnight. If the noise goes away, you may need to replace your trans fluid.
