whinning or steady grinding noice

i have 1990 240 sx and when idiling, i hear a steady whining or grinding noise, lot loud, but was not there before. Only changed oil last month and nothing else. is it my compressor or fan clutch...checked all fluids and all is well...runs great,,,,just don't know if this noise will become a problem.......thanks...2-echo:ylsuper
