This whining sound only happens when turning left. The passenger side is also starting, but not bad like the driver side yet. I noticed that both inner boots are torn on the axleshaft in front of the car? cv joint? You guys might know what part I'm talking about. I'm thinking that's the cause, but do you guys know the exact name for that shaft? Called Napa and they said it was either the rack & pinion, control arm, etc. that has to do with rwd cars. Also they said RWD cars do not have front axles. Beats me on this! TIA

top off steering fluid. that could solve your problem. use Dextron 3, yes 240sx uses auto transmission fluid for steering. anything else will leak.

Forgot to mention that I already checked that and it's full and no leaks.

yea most likely its those boots, it says to replace them when they are torn in my manual. you mgiht wanna go to a dealer and point on it on their computer, they'll tell you what it is.
