The CVT belt and pulleys don't spin in N or P if the car is stopped, nor does the differential. Torque Converter still does, but the sprag clutch and turbine are doing no work. So the noise quitting in N while stopped doesn't eliminate much. You can include or exclude everything south of the diff by briefly coasting in N. You can narrow it to the Torque Converter or front pump if the noise continues while coasting in N but changes with engine speed. Has the CVT had fluid changes?

There is still noise in neutral coming to a stop with engine running but no noise in neutral with engine off coming to a stop no the trans fluid has not been changed

Gotcha. That pretty much limits it to the engine or input side of the tranny and excludes everything that rolls with the wheels. My first guess would be nasty fluid causing noise in the front pump and Torque Converter.

Would you recommend to service trans with 175000 miles on it think it may have been serviced around 55000

That's way, way too long, so yes, get that fluid out of there. CVT's have no clutch material to make "ATF soup" like a conventional tranny, so there are no concerns about screwing up the Valve Body by changing the fluid like there would be on an A/T. It may already be too late if it's the front pump making the noise, but if not, fresh fluid in a hurry will be your only chance at saving it. Since a D&F only changes about half the fluid, if the first one improves matters, I'd recommend one or two more D&F's in quick succession to void at least 3/4 of the old stuff.

Readily available at Walmart and such would be valvoline. Napa has, or can order eneos which is what I switched my 09 and the wife’s 18 rogue over to. Supposedly they’re the oem supplier to Nissan for the ns3 fluid. The eco line covers ns2 and 3 as does valvoline. When I do my 21 at 10k I’ll use eneos and not blink an eye.

Being out of warranty and color not mattering, castrol makes very reasonably priced cvt fluid that has great reviews, but it’s red so that freaks a lot of cvt owners out.

You're most welcome. I use NS3 because I work in a Nissan shop, but if I had to buy it retail I'd go with Eneos Eco. My customers have done well with both Eneos and AMSoil, but I give Eneos the edge because the AMSoil is red and it makes it harder to judge condition of the fluid. Eneos is more-or-less the same color as NS. But they're both fine, and neither one has any miscibility issues with NS when changing over.
