whining noise coming from the engine

thanks for the welcome i dont have a recording of the sound and its loud enough to hear but its not loud enough to record it reminds me of something stretching like a rubberband or something and it only happens if im speeding or ive been driving for a while when i start the car up you dont hear it and at certain mph your dont hear but after a while you do

Not trying to scare you or anything, but people have reported a whining sound before their cvt transmission started to have issues.
Another cause could be your drive belt(s) being loose or out of alignment.

I would just keep observing any changes in the way the car feels.

yeah man your absolutely right i know the noise of the transmission before it goes that aint that sound. this sound only happens when i drive it at certain speeds on the highway and especially when it gets hot someone else told me it might be my belt as well i not to long ago had a transmission swap

I had the same exact issue w/ my 07 Altima. I took my car to the Nissan dealer this morning, just received a call back and it turns out it was the CVT Transmission. I have had previous vehicles with transmission issues and never had these type of symptoms.

I have a similar noise. About 2 weeks after I installed stillens 2.5 header for our alti the sound started. Its like coming from under our cars, has anyone checked if its an exhaust related noise? ty

okay, so my car made the noise with the tech in the car. he told me it was the alternator clutch fan kicking in to deliver more power. it kicks in when you push your car into higher RPM's. i noticed it on the altamont, in the northbay in a hilly area and on a really curvy foot hill road. he was telling me that up hill climb would be something to trigger it easily. when we got back the the dealership, he had me rev the engine in park. and even then, when we got to high RPMs it made the noise. he said that it is nothing to worry about, just means more power is being delivered. he also said, if the noise gets louder or changes sound, it is something that would need to be fixed.

yeah im originally DAMANFROMMARS for some reason i couldnt sign into that one had to make a new one but the story is after all it was my transmission this is my second wdf i was upset they said it was me driving in manual mode im like wdf how is that do anybody think driving it in manual mode really messes it up
