I have tried the search but only can find FS or WTB Z32. My neighbor owes me a few favors and told me he worked in the parts department at a Nissan dealer. So knowing that I want to upgrade my MAF to Z32 I asked him to find out how much it was going to cost to buy a new MAF. A week later he comes over the house and tells me he has to have a year and model. He said that the MAF has different part numbers for different models and years. He also said that he could price out a new one verse getting one from a reputable junk yard. So what year and model do I tell him? Why would there be a different part number if they are all the same?

I'm not sure which years of the 300zx had the correct maf, but I do know you need the one labeled N62.

It is my understanding you can use 90-94+ MAFs. 95 and 96 are different. That was the info I got when researching to buy mine. I got a 90 and I'm a happy camper. Just make sure to get n62 as loveless stated.

By the way, make sure not to wire together the 2 grounds on the 300zx MAF to the 240sx ECU ground as I've seen stated numerous times and in several instructions sheets I've downloaded. This will make you're car pig rich. Wire the black ground wire on the 300zx MAF to chassis ground and the other (don't remember the color) to the 240sx ECU ground. That made my car driveable again. Just FYI.

the 90-94 has a ODBI style connector, and the 95 96 is a OBDII style connector.

if you get one from the junkyard, cut the mafs harness and take that also, then wire up your 3 wires to the 240sx mafs harness, then ground the specific second grounding wire to the chasis.

edit*- its not referenced as a particular style of connector but they are different. if you get one from the junk and you take the harness with it, then there is no problems.

I've got an Z32 (N62) MAF that I'll sell you for cheap. I bought it many months ago used and it has been sitting in my kitchen. I'll probably never actually use it and my fiance is getting tired of car parts in the kitchen.

It's got the plug and the cut "pig tail" wires. I've never actually tested it but was told it was in perfect condition and the unit itself seems to be in excellent physical condition. Email me at [email protected] if you want to see pics or anything. I'll pretty much take any reasonable offer at this point. It's really not doing me any good.

You'll find that the new price, even with an employee's discount, will make your brain hurt. If you want to go with one from a bone yard, I understand. I'll probably end up Ebaying the MAF if I ever get up off my lazy ***.

explain why you are so adamant about it saying n62? what year is this n62 mafs from? dose it plug into the 240 mafs plug?...... well wait i dont think that would work anyways becuase the 240 plug only has 3 wires, the z32 has 4, an extra ground compared to the 240. so you would have to have part of the z32 mafs harness also wouldnt you, to have all wires connected so that it will function correctly.

umm plz explain. what else is it going to say in that place if it isnt n62?

IIRC, if it's an "N60" MAF, it's a Maxima or J30 MAF...and looks exactly the same, but does not have the HP capability of the Z32 MAF. ..and obviously des not have the same voltage curve, so a tuned ECU for a Z MAF will not work with an N60.

So it's important to get an N62 if you want a Z32 MAF.

I think.

o0o0o, i see. thats kinda important ya know, making sure that its actually a z32 mafs and not something else. i was under the impression that if you were actually to pull the mafs from certain z32's that it wouldnt have the n62 ID. as if there were 2 or more different series of mafs that you might get.

then i agree, if your buying a "z32" mafs, make sure it says n62.

I don't know much about the J30 maf...is it the same theory as the z32, is it better, is it higher priced? Just collecting info!

If you find one in a junkyard, make sure it says N62 and grab it!

Apparently, Z32 NA, Z32 TT, and J30 all use the same MAF with the same resolution and horsepower potential.
