Which years of the 5.6L V8 needed a TSB and/or had timing chain stretch risks?

A forum for the Nissan Armada, Infiniti QX56, and beginning in 2014, the Infiniti QX80

Currently looking at a 2008 Pathy with the V8.

Posting in here because i understand it to be the same engine as a 2008 Armada/QX56
Arent there some years that has potential issues?

And just how prevalent are these issues?
Had a Nissan tech once tell me the VK56DE is "bulletproof"

My 2009 QX56 has almost 182k miles. Bought it with almost 99k miles. I've had three problems under the hood. Have replaced the starter and the alternator. Also had a refrigerant leak.

Engine still runs strong. No complaints.

The engine in my 04' QX56 has been more or less fantastic and I've not heard of or had issues with a stretched timing chain. The transmission, on the other hand, is a huge POS. I'm on my 3rd tranny in 135K miles. Just paid $4700+ to rebuild the transmission that I had installed at 72k miles, which was a rebuilt unit that cost me $3200 back then. My instrument cluster has had reoccuring issues, too. Had the entire unit replaced at 40k miles, then had that unit rebuilt at like 102k miles, then again at 135k miles. I've taken care of most/all of the other issues that plagued this vehicle like IPDM, hairline cracked headers, tranny pressure hoses blown off, etc, etc. I've owned it for 11.5 years and I still love driving it. Now if I can just evict the rat that likes to sit on/crap on the top of my engine, I'd still be a happy camper with choosing this truck.

Have you considered getting a big Tomcat? I hear the striped ones are the best hunters...

Had a cat last year but the coyotes got her. I think I got the rat in question, though. We saw rat evidence on our back patio under some chairs so I put one of those traditional rat traps out with the kill bar and what do you know, the next morning bye bye rat. I think it was the same one getting inside my engine bay as I have not seen any evidence of him in the engine since then.
