Looking to purchase an SUV 2004 to 2013 QX56. What years are the most reliable? Planning on purchasing one with about 120k miles that has taken care of it and maintained.

Any Suggestions?

Also considering the Armada, but like the luxury packages of the QX series better.

Thanks,

The '04 was the first year of this model, which is the one I have, and it has some issues. I would focus on the later model years if you can swing it. My '04 is on it's 3rd transmission with 140K on the odometer. To me, that is absolutely unacceptable. This model year and other later years had unreliable IPDMs, crack-prone exhaust headers, bad HVAC blend door actuators, faulty third brake light microprocessors, crap front shocks and all 4 brake rotors (at least the initial rotors back then, they've come out with better ones since), the list goes on and on. I have had all of these issues and have fixed many of them myself so it's been manageable from a cost perspective, but if you're someone who will need to take it to a mechanic for everything, focus on the newest year you can afford where some of these issues may have already been addressed by Infiniti. The upside with mine is the engine is pretty great ...still running strong and has never leaked oil in the 12 years I've owned it.

‘11 or greater gets you the new model. The engine is greatly improved for power and mpg. My wife went from an ‘06 to a ‘12 and loves the differences.

I'm back in the market for a QX also. Looking at 08 and up. Had a chance to get a 14 at a great price year and half ago and hate I missed it.

same here. nicely loaded 15 with 120k for $17k at the infiniti dealer. I passed due to the car looking too much like big money and I live in a condo with a parking lot. If i had my own driveway different story. We bought a 18 Kia Sedona SXL which is a lot of van. Recliners, dual sunroof, surround camera, adaptive cruise the works. Which it just got totaled by going into a retention pond. That being said I'm thinking of an 08-10 QX56, saw 2 with about 130k for <$12k. From all the QX owners anything I need to look for physically on the vehicle that would be a warning flag?
